  • Bad Knees & Shoes

Since I started two years back, I have been addicted to my cardio and running. Which many of you, can be tough on your knees. I do wear support
on both but in the last two months, I have had to ice them after workouts. Somedays, only riding the bike for a break.

Then, my fiance made a comment about my shoes. I bought new running shoes when I started two years back and was still wearing them until last week. I took a hard look at them and realized that I was 200 lbs when I started and my shoes were barely hanging on. The back soles were really worn down and the support wasn't quite the same. And, I only wore the shoes for working out, never for leisure.

So, I bought a new pair of Nike running shoes and what a huge difference. I also bought new supports for my knees as well.

If you haven't taken a strong look at your shoes lately, do so. You may be suprised at how worn out they have become. Knees are not 100% better but they are much better than before.

    Re: Bad Knees & Shoes

I have really gotten into my running. I haven't ran since like 8th grade,(yikes). But I've gotten up to 30 minutes straight on the treadmill at about 5.3 speed. I am so much stronger now than I was a month ago. My right knee was very painfull. Not sure if I just pulled a ligament or ACL. The pain is under my kneecap but on the inside of my leg. I stopped running for a week and just continued on the elipitcal machine until it felt stronger. Now it seems to be fine. I would love to invest in the new Nike Ipod Shoes.

I just looked up Nike Ipod. It says your shoes can talk to your ipod...

What do your shoes tell your ipod?

Yes, shoes are the most important piece of equipment for runners. RUNNING SHOES, not athletic shoes. You should go to a running specialty store and get fitted for the proper shoes for your particular gait. Most running stores will let you try them for a while to make sure you're happy with them.

Once you are fitted with the perfect shoe, price them here: www.onlineshoes.com. No shipping and no tax!
