    Hi All,

    Just wanted to post that this morning I started Hal Higdon's 30/30 beginning runners plan. It's a little slower pace than the Couch to 5k plan I have seen alot of people are using to get started running.

    My first session actually went really well. I began with the 10 minute walk and then went into 30 seconds jog/90 seconds walk for 15 minutes, followed by 5 minute walk. I will continue that for one week and then move to 30 seconds jog/60 seconds walk.

    I really want to run some races in the future. I have three brothers who were all runners in high school and have continued running after high school. Two of them have run marathons. I know it's in the genes !

    My running (jogging) goals are these:
    Oct 14 - 2.5 mile run Central IL
    Nov 23 - 5k Elmhurst, IL
    Apr 15 - 1/2 marathon jog/walk (2007)
    Thought I'd get this down in "type" so I can be held accountable to it !

    Touch base later with progress...

    GREAT! Sounds like you are well on your way to becoming addicted to running!! Its a beautiful thing!

      Thanks for the invite Betty. I wasn't sure if I should post in the Cool Running section as I am not doing the Couch to 5K. You all seem like very avid runners. I have been lurking there for a little over a week. I will stop in soon!

        Hon, I never did the Couch to 5k either if that makes you feel better! We love running, that's our common bond and you fit right in!! See ya there!
