    Re: elliptical vs treadmill

It really depends what you want to get out of the machine.

If it was down to me, I would probably go for an eliptical. You get more out of this as it works both your arms and legs. And on top of that, you can always walk / run outside instead of a treadmill.

Where as you cant pound the sidewalk the same as you do on the eliptical.

    Does that make any sense?

Elliptical burns more calories than the treadmill. I love the elliptical!

Also note that an elliptical is low impact so great for peoples knees

            Re: elliptical vs treadmill

Depends if you want to run or if running is an option for you. I know when I first started exercising I couldn't handle the pounding of running on my knees. At this point, I am training for half marathons, so I am much more likely to use my treadmill than an elliptical. I am convinced that I get a much better cardio workout running than on the elliptical trainer, but it's all about what your goal is.

I agree! I love my elliptical! It is easy on the knees, burns more calories, and it works your arms and legs.
