So I broke my toe yesterday, and can't put on sneakers right now. Any suggestions for something aerobic I can try?

Re: Suggestions for aerobic exercises with a broken toe
If you have access to an stationary bike, you could get your heartrate up doing some serious peddling, and even do it barefoot. Hope your toe gets better soon.

swimming is great and there are many many sitting aerobic programs ofr those with disabilities. What did your doc say about the toe and any pressure as pedaling a bike whould place on it?by the book atkinseer

Re: Suggestions for aerobic exercises with a broken toe
I'm not up for spending $50 just to have him tell me "yep, it's broken" and tape it to the next toe. I've broken them enough in my life to know what I need to do to keep it stable
. I once broke 8 at the same time... now THAT was a problem. It's my little toe, so there's not a ton of weight that gets put on it except when I roll up onto the balls of my feet, so running is out right now. I tried swimming last night, and it hurt. Kicking puts a lot of pressure on at an odd angle I think. I'll try biking today or tomorrow. I might also dig my gazelle out and give that a go. If I remember right it's a fairly flat footed excercise.

if the ball of the foot is out then biking would be out. you can flip a bike and use the pedals with your hands for a great aerobic workout if you can clamp the brakes on it to cause drag. in gyms they call them ergometers.by the book atkinseer
