    Betty.

Do you ever do "out and backs"?

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Ok, its a technical term I think, you may have another phrase / saying / name for it.

Its basically a run out and then a run back. - it can be any distance, but the idea is (for example) you run somewhere for say 2 miles, then you run the same route back to where you started (obviously the same distance). The idea is to run the first bit easy, and the second leg harder, attempting to knock a big chunk of time off of your "out" bit.

      Thus

      Out and back.

Yeah, I guess I'd call those my regular training runs!! That's basically my strategy during the week (M, W, Th) when I do the 6.3 mile route. On Saturdays, I go for distance to build stamina and endurance, so I do a run of at least 13 miles.

My official marathon training is due to start the week of Sept 10 ... its an 18 week schedule which will take me right up to race day, January 7th.

Ok, it would appear you do out and backs all the time then. I usually run a circuit, but tonight I am doing 2 mile out and a 2 mile back. First time I would have tried that. Its the 2nd bit thats the test, obviously.

Good luck with your marathon training. I am looking at doing another half marathon about a month after I do my first.
