  • I'm new! I have an exercise question.

Hi all! I am on my 5th week and have been doing high impact aerobics for 10 months. I am recently starting to 'burn out' half way through my workout. I have heard to drink gatorade; but I have never liked to drink its because its so high in sugar!! Any suggestions on something I can consume before my workout to make it through?
    Thanks

I eat a snack like an hour or two before working out, and drink lots of water if I'm doing something high intensity (like weights).

All I've ever heard is to drink a cup or two of water before working out to keep your muscles hydrated or you will lose energy.

I drink 64+ oz of water daily and tea in between. I think I'm hydrated enough. Maybe I'll try an Atkins bar or the sort an hour before??? Thanks.

I do my regime outside of my home. Thanks for the video offer though.

In my experience there is no need to eat any differently than you do normally before a work out.

What sort of exercising are you doing?

(btw, I am also moving this post to the exercise forums).

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I agree with Rich. There's no need for you to eat much differently, depending on what it is you're doing for your workouts.

When I run, I typically drink a protein shake about 30 minutes beforehand and that's always worked for me. For everything else, I do nothing differently. My aerobic/circuit training workouts are anywhere from 35-70 minutes.

Just say "NO" to Gatorade. If you are eating properly and are properly hydrated, there's no need for it. If anything, eat a small snack of protein and fat and you'll be good to go. It may simply be that you need to increase your calorie intake a bit over the course of the day. Experiment a little and you'll find what works for you.
