7.3 miles on Sunday. Strange distance for a race really, it was billed as a 12k which is also a strange race distance. Hey ho, it was hard as a lot of it was on sand and through mud. But fun. just over 1 hour 20 mins.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Mud and sand sure makes it hard going!

SNOW?!! Yikes! How much do you typically get in a season, Rosecat??

              Wed: 6.8 mile run.

No running this week. Taking off from running the Marine Corps marathon this past Sunday. Came in at 5 hours and 11 minutes and some. I was pretty disappointed. I ran last year in Detroit in 4:48. I was hoping for around 4:30. The extra weight and awful eating leading up to it was definitely my downfall. Started induction Tuesday and am off and running getting back to it. Looking to run Chicago Marathon next year and improve on this year's marathon.

Rich, you did great! Maybe not as good as you hoped, but great in my book! My first marathon was less than stellar, but that just motivates me to train smarter for the next one and finish better! Congratulations on finishing and putting forth great effort ... think of all the people you know who don't even have the courage to try!!

                    Thank you Betty.

I'm already making training plans and considering which changes to make, etc..
Legs almost back to normal today.

May have to work 3 or 4 miles in this weekend.

Betty, How much snow? Depends on the year, last two years we have had heavy snowfall later in the season. Last year we had to dig ourselves out as late as end of March. The weather changes quickly here and there are temperature extremes from -15 C in Winter to over 30 C (humid and tropical like) in Summer. Today, running was cold with the wind whipping off the snow on the mountains!!

Big Runner, I think that you are doing great entering and completing a marathon!!! Congratulations.

Ran to a town about 12.5 km (7.8 miles) from here and caught the train back today. It was fun, might do it more often as there are stations in the towns dotted at varying distances along the valley for over 20 kms.

I'm back again. 5 miles 57:16 still way off the pace but that will come again.

Rich, we are lucky, the Swiss have what I consider one of the best public transport systems in the world and it runs like Swiss clocks - on time and with precision.

Having a rest day today from running, will go biking or walking instead.

                            Have a great weekend everyone!!

                              Saturday, 11/4: 13.1 mile run.

                              Good mileage week: 15.5, 6.3, 6.8, 13.1 = 41.7 miles
