  • Energy drinks! QUESTION!

    Hey all!

So, I'm still doing extended induction, and I have a question about these energy drinks. Is it okay for me to have them? I have one before my pm workout at night, and it reaaaaaaaally reaaaaaaaaaaally works for me! I've been drinking TAB energy drink- 5 calories, zero carbs, low sodium. There's no aspartame. It lists sucralose (which is splenda... doesn't list that name, but I know that's what it is.). I don't get any jitters or cravings from it. It tastes nasty, but it gets easier to drink. I've only used it twice this past week. Is this safe? Which one do you all use; if you use them at all? Thanks!!

I only ever drink water in the gym. For the amount of time we are in the gym for I doubt you would really need anything else. Water keeps you hydrated and thats really all you need.

Rich is right; if you're working out less than an hour, water is sufficient. If you're in the heat of summer, in Florida humidity, running, well .. that's a much different story!

Those thar energy drinks are loaded with insane amounts of caffeine. I think they're a fad right now, and some folks are getting caffeine poisoning from them, so beware!

I just drink water--I have never been much for the energy drinks (um well except for a couple jagerbombs, but that's a different story) and I personally wouldn't use them because I am finally free from caffiene!

Water keeps me hydrated--if I am worried about energy, I make sure I EAT a small fat/protein snack a couple hours before the gym--THAT gives me energy!
