  • Another half marathon!

I have kept pretty quiet about it this time, but I have another half marathon this weekend.

Apparently quite a flat course, so I should be able to hope for a quick time. Happy with around 2:10 but its been a while since I have ran so we shall see.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

That's awesome! When did you start doing half marathons? I would love to build up to doing that. Good luck!

      Re: Another half marathon!

My first half was back in September this year. Since then I have done one other, the one on Sunday will be my 3rd. Its my 16th race this year. the half distance (13.1 miles) is my longest race.

Chasin, do you do much running now? Start of with shorter distances (say 5k) and before long you will be working up through the distances.

      Good luck

          Thanks Betty.

I just wish I was as confident as you. (in my performance that is). My toe is hurting a little today, not much, but its noticable.

              Re: Another half marathon!

Wow, I was on for such a good time (in my books). I went through the 7 mile mark in one hour 5 minutes. Which if I had done the last miles in the same pace would have meant I would have shattered my personal best. Hoever, it wasnt to be. I obviously went off a little to ambitious, and when I hit 10.5 miles my legs felt as if they couldnt go on. I ran / walked for the next mile and a half.

I ended up finishing in 2 hours 13 minutes. WHich is only 4 minutes slower than my best ever. If only I could have kept on running it could have been interesting.

Hey ho, not every race can result in a PB.

              892nd out of 984.

2big, i dont think it was lack of fuel. I think it was a lack of sleep. I didnt finish work the night before until 2am. And the race was at 11. We had to leave home at 7am to get there.
