It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

7 miles - 2 miles last night and 5 this morning.

I think that this will be my last report in for a while. I'm off to South Africa for business trip until mid December. We will be up around the Botswana border, where internet & exercise facilities are thin on the ground. However, we will be doing lots of walking around the facilities and reserves.

      Best of luck to everyone.

          Hi Rich,

Thanks for asking. Have made it a goal to enter my first race in March 2007. In the meantime I am working on getting my times down. The problem is I know what I used to be able do and it does not match what I am doing now for times, maybe my expectations are too high and they probably need readjusting. I used to be paid to run as part of my job until I had a skiing accident, so I have high expectations of myself in this instance.

In addition, I think I need to lose another 10-15 pounds before my times will really come down, but I want to do it slowly so it stays off!! Well, in the meantime its back to pounding the pavement.

Good luck to you guys, I am flying out to SA in the morning, will report in when I can.

Re: Cool Running for the week of Thanksgiving (Nov 19)

Wednesday evening I just did 10 minutes very steady jogging on the treadmill to get my legs moving a bit in preparation for this weekends race.

Finished the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 10k this morning in 1:08, give or take a few .. the crowd was heavy and not much room to pass ... But thankful to still be a running machine at nearly 51 years of age!

              HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

5 mile run this afternoon, third best of the year, and 6 seconds closer to 50 minutes.

Another 5 miler this morning, a bit slower than yesterday afternoon, but only about 16 hours rest between them. Felt pretty good, kept my heart rate down a bit. Fell great at the moment.

One thing I've noticed since I started running again, I am never sore. I used to have issues going down stairs the day after a run, I haven't had that problem at all this time.
