  • Yoga/pilates

Is anyone involved in yoga and pilates? I am obsessed with yoga, pilates, and all things in between so I guess I'll start a thread. My goal is to do at least an hour of yoga per day. I also want to add new positions to my routine.

    Activity for today:

1 hr dance yoga, 1/2 hour pilates

For those of you who don't know (and more than likely don't care based on the responses), bikram yoga is yoga done in a heated room. The sweat and heat enables you to get rid of toxins whilst working out.

I enjoy yoga in all phases of fitness...pilates I find more enjoyable (and less painful) if I'm in acceptable shape.

YAH! Hottie in the house. I'm so glad you enjoy yoga as well. If anything, the relaxation that it provides contributes a lot to one's mental and physical health.

The only downside is that I am in a class full of vegans and vegetarians. I love all of them but they would die if they found out what I eat. BTW, the HOTTEST guys go to yoga classes I find. Ugh, I sound like such a schoolgirl but I can't help it, it's true! Well, at least it keeps me from missing sessions.

Yes, totally...I'm actually going tonight. I don't feel well, and I'm hoping that some yoga will help flush out the crap in my system.

I think a lot of people underestimate yoga--they think it's just stretching. Yoga can be difficult (I can't even imagine doing bikram...sheesh) and it uses so many muscles that you don't even realize...and it improves flexibility tenfold. Which is what I need because I do not have flexible hip flexors...ouch ouch ouch. I also love how it improves my posture...well yoga and pilates, both.

Oooh the hottest guys...I know! And dirty me, all I'm thinking about during class is how they'd look doing those poses naked...or what other creative ways they can bend their bodies outside of class...oh those sexy flexy boys...

Yes very. But one of the yoga classes I took, my boyfriend also took with me. So my "window-shopping" was limited, but at least we got to practice at home together!

^lol. This thread is getting xxx rated. I knew a yoga thread could possibly go in this direction. haha. My boyfriend does yoga as well, but he has all the moves memorized and does them with me at home. And no, I'm not talking about .....Although, it does come in handy. lol. We just like to meditate, do yoga and have discussions a lot. Is that weird? You betcha and I love it! lol.

Anyway, I am yogaaaaaaaaaaad outtttt. I went for bikram tonight and am drenched. It is so refreshing though. I feel like my mind and insides have been rid of impurity. Gotta go rid my exterior of this sweat impurity as well. lol.

Alright this is great, everyone seems so enthusiastic about yoga! Woohoo. lol.

1 hr INTENSE bikram yoga by a teacher who's goal was to make us cry. He succeeded. I'm sorry but flexing into a pretzel in a steamed room is not fun. Good workout though.

                            Re: Yoga/pilates

Well, I have abandoned this thread but no worries... I have not abandoned my beloved pilates or yoga. I simply cannot run outside. My failed attempts and subsequent falls are evidence. I absolutely detest running on treadmills (not to mention perverts are always around treadmills at our gym) so my only exercise is pilates+yoga.

I went to a 6 am class this morning (yes, I am THAT cool) and my yoga teacher was talking about a bunch of meditation/buddhist philosophies which I didn't care for. I just wanted some exercise and he spent 30 minutes yacking away in one position. Grrrr. Obviously, you can tell that I didn't get a release of negative emotions this morning, quite the opposite actually. Hope you are all well.
