  • Either Or...

    Hello,

I am new here and so glad to have signed up.

I have a quick question before we get in too deep... My entire family is going on Atkins again (Which is quite a rare occurance, let me assure you). We only have enough money to purchase either a bowflex or a treadmill-ish thing... What would you say is the better way to go/most fast burning approach? I was leaning a bit toward the treadmill... However I am willing to take any advice offered here!

    Thanks again,

    -N-

I would go with a treadmill peronally, especially if more then one person would be using it. Easier to manage the changes needed to make it match to the individual. Also, although nothing wrong with the bowflex I just feel that a treadmill is more likely to be used long term.

Oh wanted to add, with a treadmill you know what you are getting yourself into. It's a safe bet. With a bow flex it's harder to decide whether you are really going to like it enough to stick with it, if you could rent one for 6 months it would be different

      Thanks Grant,

I will mention this to the parental-units. We need a lot of space so perhaps a foldable treadmill will work best.

PS: Excellent job on your weight loss so far!

Choose the one that you think you'll actually USE. You want to take all of your excuses OUT of your way, so something that's easy, something that you have room for, and that you enjoy doing. You NEED both cardio and weight training though...but weight training can be done with a simple (and inexpensive) free-weight purchase.
