  • Biceps and curls

Hi all. I have been going to the gym and recently starting doing curls. I don't know if I am doing them right or wrong. I have watched some videos on working them out on youtube, and have tried to mimick them to the best of my ability. Since curls basically iscolate the bicep muscle, then my biceps should feel it after a day of working them out, right? The reason I ask is this. While I am working them out, I can deffinatly feel the 'burn' in them and I believe that is a good thing.

Now the part that confuses me, is the next day, not always, only sometimes, the crease in my arm is sore and not the bicep, just below the bicep actually! Does this mean I am doing them wrong, or is getting a part of the arm that I am also suppose to be getting? This has been a question I have needed an answer for for a few weeks now and didn't know where to ask, what better place than here!

No you didn't ask it in the wrong forum.

About the muscle burn, you should feel some kind of strain if you are working the muscle. But in terms of an after-work-out-next-day burn, it could mean that you overworked the muscle.

do you go to a gym or workout at home? If at a gym, use a preacher curl bench to support your arms. My husband has been working out for years, and has tennis elbow. This has helped the strain on his elbow alot. It's hard to do wrong form with this piece of equipment.

sorry the only pics i could find are on fitness sales sites. i'm by no means recommending you buy from here or anything, but wanted you to see an example of what i'm talking about.. http://bodysolid.com/Item.aspx?ItemI...her+Curl+Bench

If you work out at home, try to do 'seated concentration curls' as well. they can help take the pressur off of the elbow http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/exerc...ationcurls.htm

Actually that site above has some great examples of different bicep exercises.

        Hope this helps.
