  • Starting Couch to 5k program today!

Started this program today and actually running for a whole minute is a quite a long time LOL It's snowing and cold today too which stinks because it hurts to breathe just walking. But, I made it through Day 1 and didn't die from it, so Im really pleased. For never jogging in my whole life, I feel accomplished!

Excellent!! WTG! Getting started is 90% of the battle, and you're over the biggest hump!

IF I CAN BECOME A RUNNER AT AGE 47, ANYONE CAN. I was as out of shape as you can believe 3 1/2 years ago... and now I've run over 5,000 miles!

The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step! YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks guys! I am a little sore today, but not as bad as I thought I'd be. Today is my rest day, which is good because its really cold and snowy, not really motivating to get out and jog.

Coco--I told my fiance if I wasn't back in 20 minutes, he better get in the car and come find me cuz I'd be laying on someone's front yard LOL Good luck today!

Thanks Coco! Thats such a nice thing to say! I started on a Thursday so it will work out to be m-w-f for me too. it just has to be 3 days a week with a day in between to rebound.

Re: Starting Couch to 5k program today!

WK1D2 finished! It actually felt alot better today than it did on Thursday. It was ALOT easier to run a whole minute LOL I even found myself running 2 minutes and not realizing it. I did slow down the pace a little though and that helped alot. I have to realize I can't be a speed racer or I'll die.

                    Coco--How ya feelin today??

Week 1 is finished!!! I can't believe I did it! I feel great! I'm not sore anymore; in fact I didn't get sore after D2 either. I even found myself running for 2 minutes at a time tonight. Week 2 starts on wednesday. I cant imagine myself running for 20 minutes straight, but I will!!!

Great work you guys! One of my goals is to run in a 5K this summer. I really enjoy jogging at the park and find it be super relaxing. I plan to start my training on next week!

Week 2 started last night and it was actually pretty easy! two minutes jogging then 2 minutes walking. Which isn't really the EXACT way the program has it, but I don't have a stop watch yet so I have to use my cell phone clock LOL
