  • Cool Running for the week of May 6, 2007

Wow, Tuesday already and no thread? I am getting pretty slack in my old age!

Well, it was a very busy weekend for us as DD graduated CUM LAUDE with her bachelor's degree on Saturday...can you say PROUD AS A MOMMA CAN BE??! Anyhow, its been a crazy time around here, so my apologies for the late thread.

Sunday, I ran 8 miles in the disgusting heat and humidity. It was around 88 when I finished and I was ZAPPED. Today (Tuesday), its cool, but the winds have shifted to the northeast and we're inundated with smoke in the air from the wildfires. Florida is in the serious drought right now and fires are popping up everywhere it seems. I am hopeful that the summer rains will begin soon and put an end to the smoke-filled air.

I did manage 6.3 miles this morning, but I feel like I did it in a chimney. UGH.

    a) betty you and your daughter are very similar looking.

    b) I did 6 miles this tuesday evening, an organised cross country race and it was hard! I want to go back to running on the road again.....

    (Tewkesbury half marathon this weekend)).

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Rich, I take that as a compliment; DD probably takes that as an insult! Well considering there are 28 years between us, I AM DEFINITELY TAKING THAT AS A COMPLIMENT!

CC running *is* difficult .. I'll stay on the pavement !

Back at it. 3 miles in. Felt good. Breaking in some new running shoes. Feels like I'm wearing cushions on my feet. Went through my log and as best I can tell, I got 624 miles on my last pair of shoes.

Pulled long run ahead a day so I can be a good host to the wife for Mother's Day.

13 miles in @ 10:39 pace. Nice and cool here in Michigan.

Small world Julie. Whereabouts? I live in Burton (just east of Flint).

Can't wait to run the Crim again this year. Of all the races I've run (including marathons), the Crim 10 miler is still my favorite.

I'm from Bay City. Never done the Crim, but I used to do the BC St. Patrick's Day 5K when I was a kid, if that counts.
