  • Exercise Ideas?

Hello everyone, this is my first time on the 'exercise' board of ADBB. I have lost over 56 pounds in 21 weeks but to be honest, I do not exercise as much as I should. Before you say it, I know that 'exercise is non-negotiatable' but with having 2 kids and a busy summer, I just haven't gotten into the exercise swing quite yet. I have entered (and finished) two races this summer, a 10K and 5K, and I play on a softball team, but for the most part don't have a regular exercise program. I have recently noticed my weight loss isn't happening like it used to.

Anyone have ideas to get me started.

    Thank You!!

    Re: Exercise Ideas?

Are you part of a gym? Do they have classes? Do you want to do more races? I think you need to find something that's fun to do. Oh, and also do weights. They make such a huge difference. But everyone has their own opinion on what's fun for them. Tomorrow, I'm going to a spin class, boxing class, then probably doing some weights and maybe running or kayaking depending how I'm feeling. Those things are all fun for me to do, so I stick with them.

Weights are great and can make amazing differences in your body. The main thing is to find something you enjoy and that you will do regularly. You might try joining some of the challenges to get you started. I was the same boat you are, only I didn't do ANYTHING active if I could help it. I joined a Slim in Six dvd challenge and it really jump started my activity. There's a pedometer challenge, runners' challenge, 6 week exercise, abs, pushups, and all kinds of things. Find something and try it for the challenge, if you hate it, try something else. Just moving makes a lot of difference.

Good luck, and you're doing great!
