I've never used a pedometer. How many steps should i do per day? I want to start a goal but have no idea of a good starting point. I walked from my craftroom to bedroom and it was 35 steps. Any advice?TIA!

Re: using a pedometer ?
Why not do a trial day... see how many you clock up, and then raise it a little for a challenge?
Did you know there's a Pedometer challenge on the board? Why not join it? You'll find it in the Exercise Challenges forum. It's fun! Before and after:

Re: using a pedometer ?
THanks Betty. I wore my pedometer to work and I lost it. Did notice until i had left work. I called and had the girls keep an eye out for it. When i got home I had a message that my boss found it under my chair-yipeeeee! I go back Thursday so will start again.
?- My pedometer has a clip and i clipped it to my waistband but because of my roll my waistband overflaps. I sit and sat alot so theres a great chance of losing it again. Whats the best way to clip it or should i just put it in my pocket?

Re: using a pedometer ?
Yeah... mine falls off every now and again. I'm hoping it won't break. maybe a pocket is the way to go, but need to check if it works that way. Mine doesn't work if it's upside down, strangely enough. Before and after:

Re: using a pedometer ?
The surgeon general says you should at least get 10,000 steps a day. When I started wearing mine, I was averaging 7,000 a day....but after 2 years I find that I usually do 12,000+ because I wear it every day and am aware of it being on. **2,000 steps is supposed to be a mile.Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Dedication gives wings to our dreams and keeps them in flight! In One Word...COMMITTMENT.
