Re: Tony Little's Gazelle???
It is probably (and hopefully) just because you are not used to doing it, but please keep an eye on it. Let us know what happens.Originally posted by DreamingRoxHi :wave ! I went out to Walmart today, to buy myself the Gazelle but, now I have a question. If i'm not hurting does that mean I didn't have a useful workout? Lol...I know the Gazelle is supposed to be easy on our joints and whatever but I feel no muscle strain? Eh maybe I need to get the hang of it...atleast it's really quiet , easy, and cheap. I'm going back on it I want to wake up with muscle pain tommorow :anger . hehe :guns :icondancesigpic260/215/180 Male - 36 y/o
It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I have one of these, just wish I could find a video to go with it... most of the time I get bored on for a lack of ideas of what to do

Oh!!! I have just ordered one of these for their 14.95 30-day trial and was hoping to find someone that has test-driven it! Are you liking it? Does anyone else have any feedback on it?
Isabeau, you are too cute! The Gazelle is a machine that......well, I am at a loss for words! Your feet swing back and forth while you move your arms.......ok, I can't explain it - you're right, it's a mammal.
Here is a link, in case you want to take a look-see:

Don't let the easy workout on the Gazelle fool you, it does work your whole body. I have the cheap one from Walmart, and I try to do 20 to 30 minutes 3 to 5 times a week. I listen to upbeat music and really have fun on it. You'll probably feel a little sore tomorrow. My "in shape" hubby got on my Gazelle one night and really thought it was easy. He stayed on for 30 minutes, and the next morning he could barely move!!! Just try it for a while, I think you'll like it.sigpic starting 12/26/2008

Sorry to resurrect a buried topic, but I have a few questions:
What is the cheapo wally world special called? How much does it run?
judyintn: is it still working for you? and to anyone that has it does it still work or do you outgrow it?
Im intrested becuase I got a bad knee from a wreck most leg exercises makes me scream for like a week after. I wanted to try it and see if my knee approves.

The Gazelle comes in 3 varieties:
The Edge (Wally World Special) runs about $100 (I've never tried this one)
The Freestyle Elite (Mid grade) runs about $200 (also never tried it)
The Max (Super Mega Ninja Model) runs about $300-$400 (I own one and love it!!!!)
I found the Max at Sam's club for $200 on clearance, so I picked it up last week, I love it! I hurt my knee (twisted it) so I haven't been able to use it much, but it was fun, and my DH liked it too. I think they are great. Pain in the @$$ to put together, but well worth it.

I've never tried to fold mine up, but from reviews I've read people say they are not great on the storage aspect, I think you'd have a "huge piece of matchinery in the middle of the room".Originally posted by SweetieThe price seems right but do they fold up for easy storage, or will I have this huge piece of machinery in the middle of the room?

"huge piece of matchinery in the middle of the room".
its so you can't forget it under the bed or in the kids back pack or in the car! I was watching the country music channel and it seems late at night they breka it up with exercise equpiment infomercials, anywho I was watching this one where they said it fits anywhere and some of the places they stuck it I would loose it and forget about it.
So maybe good storage ain't the best idea it serves as a little reminder as you walk through the house and stub a toe on it and cuss it and get up and think ow it still hurts I guess thats what I get for skipping my routine last night...

The Gazelle Edge folds up flat, you can slide it under a bed, put it in a closet or prop it up against the wall. I leave mine out in a room we don't use much. I've had it for more than a year. It works if you work it. I spend about 15 minutes just going at a brisk pace without doing any muscle toning exercises. For the next 15 minutes I work my arms more by leaning back and pulling on the handles, or leaning forward and pushing on the handles. I also do the one minute sprints where you go as fast as you can until you can do no more. If you use it properly, you can get as much of a workout as you want.
I have noticed all over body toning. I am a slow loser, but have gone from a size 14 to a 10 since Jan. My stomach muscles have really tightened up. I got my Gazelle on ebay for $80, with shipping it was about $100.
I have arthritis in my knees and this is the only piece of exercise equipment I've ever used that doesn't aggravate my joints. I cannot use ellipticals or stair machines, but the gazelle is great.sigpic starting 12/26/2008
