  • Those with apple shape bodies

Usually the first place we gain is in our stomach area and its last to go -right?
What exercises have helped you lose that fat in your mid-section to get a waist line? If you did ab crunches how long before you saw results? Thanks any advice and tip would be great

I'm still working on it! The crunches help the muscles get firmer, but until you lose the weight, you'll have fat as a layer on top of the firm six pack hiding underneath.

My stomach is feeling flatter, but my hip to waist ratio still puts me in the increased risk zone.

Exercise does help you develop a good shape and the muscles burn more fat, it also helps the skin tighten up some.

My advice is to start exercising--join some challenges and enjoy!

Julierama swears that lifting weights has helped her shape change--I've been lifting weights too, and I think she's right.

    Good luck!

What about those of us who can't do crunches? I posted a thread about this, but didn't get an answer.

          BTT

I've also been doing the ball twist. I sit on the floor. Hold an exercise ball straight out and twist to the right and back to the left. I've been doing 25 but need to up it. I hope someone can give us more tips.

Cardio (read: running) has done more for my abs than any crunches could ever do.

I've been running for nearly 4 years (started at age 47) and now, at age 51 (nearly 52) I actually have 6 pack abs again ...after 5 abdominal surgeries and a pregnancy weight gain of 50+ pounds...
