  • Not sure what to do with my equipment? help plz

I've never really used exorcise equipment before, so i'm not sure how to use what I have to get anything effectively done. I played soccer for 10 years so all I ever used to do was just go play soccer lol, that and running and situps, and the kind of stuff you'd do in practice is all I ever did.
Since an injury keeps me from playing anymore i'm kind of at a loss. My ideal would still be a treadmill, but alas I dont have one
I -DO- have a stationary bike thingy, with different resistances 1-10. Then I have 2 free weights 12 lbs each. thats all I got! I want to invest in some resistance bands or something else because I dont feel like what i've got is going to give me enough of a workout all over, ya know?

Meh. any advice on working with what I have? I dont mind the bike, but its kind of boring and it hurts my butt lol.

Free weights do basically the same thing as resistance bands, imo....except resistance bands are lighter and can be packed into a briefcase or purse so you can work out with them at the office. Also Phys. Ed. exercises like push ups, sit ups, etc. are all valid forms of exercise.

Bicycling and walking is fine. Aim for your target heart rate when doing these things. If biking is too boring, interval train. That is bike a few minutes, get off and do some push ups, bike a few minutes, get off and do some lunges, bike a few minutes, get off and do some sit ups, etc. You kill two birds with one stone---the cardio and the weight training. If you don't like getting on and off the bike, you can vary your pedalling speeds and pedalling resistance. For example, bike at an easy pace for a few minutes, then speed up for a few minutes and alternate that. Or bike at a steady pace but change the resistance at intervals.
