I started walking yesterday and my goal is to walk 1.3 miles an hour 5/7 days a week. Will this help stregthen my core as well as my legs or can I do something else that will target my core? Is sit ups the only thing that works?

what I did when I joined the ab challenge was start with 25 a day, the next week I did 50, next week I did 75, the next week I did 100... then I stayed there for a month... then I went up to 125 5 days a week... then 175 5 days a week...
now I'm doing the slim N 6 video series... but definately start slow... be consistent at whatever you decide to do.... there's lots of different videos out there.

Pilates are really great, like Blazing said. Also, my uncle always told me to tighten my stomach muscles when I did ANY types of exercises, even walking, and that will help strengthen them
I do that around my office all day! You really notice how much those muscles do get used when you walk when you do that too
I would rather struggle to do this, than struggle with the fact that I can't...
