  • What should I expect?

I've finally committed myself to this woe. I feel that this time I'm on the bandwagon for good. I've even committed to doing exercise five days a week. I will make time for exercise from now on.
    Monday-Pilate
    Tuesday-Fit ball
    Wednesday-Yoga
    Thursday-Eliptical
    Saturday- another gym class
Now my question is, What do you do in Pilates? Or even a fit ball class?
How did it tone your body? Did you feel it made a difference?
I've never done Pilates and I'm so excited. The class on saturday kicked my butt and it felt so good. My body felt so loose after it
Anyway, any input on the pilates and fit ball classes would be great. Thanks!

You will love pilates or I should say I love Pilates!!!!!!! It is a lot more of a work out then people think before they have done it! If Fitball is the same as stability ball I love mine!!!!!! I ahve a bum toe right now and my stability ball is my main source of excercise right now and I am loving it! I guess you won't know till you try but I think you'll like them both!

Is there any equipment needed for Pilates? Just the mat, right?

I'm so mad. I left my stupid mat in my fiance's car, and I had been wanting to go to this class since last week
I'll just do my yoga DVD tonight, go to the yoga class tomorrow and catch pilates next monday.

You will love Pilates! After a few sessions you will feel leaner and longer! For basic Pilates, just a mat is needed...and if I'm at home on carpet I don't have anything for floor exercises. Some classes/DVDs will use balls, these ring things, but the "real" professional Pilates (like one-on-one training) use a machine called a Reformer.

I need to get back into it. It feels so great!
