  • Slim in 6 Bandwagon

Woohoo my friends, I'm jumping on!

Things are fabulous for me here in AtkinsLand, down nearly 30 pounds since starting, and I liked the SI6 threads. Checked out the website and noticed that it seemed honest, and that the success stories were honest too. Nobody's losing zillions of pounds, but the toning is INTENSE and I like the look of it immensely.

I picked up mine on Ebay for a grand total of 45 bucks. So anybody else thinking of doing it, shop around.

Actually, the sweet sappy story is...I was snuggling up to hubby in bed and we were talking about me being sexy lol...and I mentioned that I'd like to try SI6. He got up out of bed, went downstairs and ordered it for me instantly. Heehee! What a good guy.

Well, I'm off to highlight my hair! I'll try to get around to taking some snaps so we can see me as a chunky monkey then, almost to realistic goal now, and in 6 weeks? who knows :P

      Slim in 6 day 2

Just finished Day 2 of Slim in 6, oddly enough it got easier in the span of one day. Or maybe I was hyper for it because even though I ache, I'm excited to make it work. My arms were burning within 3 minutes, somebody's out of shape! /hides But I feel confident in giving Ramp It Up a whirl after this first week.

Did you SI6ers read any of those diet guidelines included in the package? I nearly died laughing...fast for 2 days and then eat lots of brown rice and whole grain cereal...No thanks! Got a great WOEFL here.

Also, does Ramp it Up and Burn it Up crank the difficulty on the stomach exercises? I can feel it during the workout but not after and I'm contemplating doing the extra ab workout on my rest day.

        Day 3

Ok, I hurt. (Curse you Pammie for being right! :P )

My biggest complaint isn't the pain in my body but the pain in my noggin! About halfway into my workout, I get a thumping wicked headache which lasts for hourrrrs....Hubby suggests it's due to thundering blood flow through my body. My face is purple when I finish the tape.

Any suggestions? More water, a rest perhaps ? Argh!

Wow I never had that problem. Are you still on Start It Up or did you move on to Ramp It Up?

Still on Start It Up...Day 4 and still have a headache.

I've also gained 4.5 pounds in 4 days, not quite sure what that's all about, I've been my usual good self. /shrug?

Tried the stretching tape after Start It Up and that eased the soreness in my legs but not the headache.

Are you doing induction? Could you have the flu?
Definitely don't go on to Ramp It Up until you feel better!

                Rawr, feeling better!

Thanks for listening, I was having a bad day and it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Here are the straws lol...

                1. I have a bday on Feb 3. ick.

                2. The scale isn't loving me. Calorically it's near impossible to gain 4.5 pounds in 3 or 4 days, but salty bloat is just as irritating.

                3. PMS and a monster zit underneath my lip, declaring "I'm oily and I'm proud! Strangers think you have an STD!"

                4. My W-2s. I claimed 0 at my job but due to my husband's good income and my part-time status the federal government took TWO dollars out. I was fuuuurious.

Anyways, for a few day's now I've taken it down a notch. There's no need to make myself ill...I'm just out of shape and need to give it time. But today (Saturday) I woke up feeling awesome so since tomorrow is my rest day I tried Ramp It Up and LOVED it! I was just way in the zone and I LOVED the abwork! I felt really fierce and tore through it. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

The best part is that it's been one week and I felt brave and got the tape measure ( I took measurements one day before starting) and omg it's working! My weight is higher but I lost a half-inch on the hips, a half inch on the thigh, quarter inch on the arm...granted, there may be measuring errors and discrepencies here and there but they can't ALL be wrong, especially the inch difference on my abdomen. So I'm feeling a little snazzier this weekend and I'll be pushing play come Monday.

P.S. I got a wicked cramp in my right butt-cheek and had to take a long time-out on the floorwork lmao

Don't feel bad. It took me a loooong time to be able to get through the leg/butt stuff. It's killer.
Glad you are feeling better! :joy

                    Haiiii-ya!

It's been 2 weeks now and I'm looking forward to Burn It Up next workout! The scale is still reluctant but I'll give it a few more weeks, especially as I've become the amazing melting fat girl!

Got out the tape measure and I'm down a total of 9 inches from all over my body. 5.5 inches of that is gone from my abdomen. Crrrrazy, I'm pleased. Popped in the DVD right after measuring. Also hubby got me the resistance bands today and I used them, they're nifty! I like them better than the weights.

Go Slim in 6! I needed that kick in the pants today with those measurements since yesterday was my birthday ...didn't push play, ate cake, and remembered how good it felt to eat carbs and not sweat. Hee hee, back to pushing play and chicken salad.

Congratulations on the loss and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Maybe I should see if I can invest in that - I'm more concerned with inches than the scale anyway... even if I'm addicted to it and could use a change in my regular workouts. I could also stand to lose 5.5 inches in my abdomen in 2 weeks too

                        Happy Birthday Mrs!
It really is a good workout. I am down 6" in my waistline last I checked too! What a feeling huh? :joy
Are you getting through the leg/butt floor exercises?
I just got a new video from Beachbody. Kathy Smith's Project: You! Going to start that on Monday. It looks like a lot of fun. It's pretty fast, I hope I can keep up with it.

Thanks for the b-day wishes! :yes

Lyssie: Jump on the bandwagon! Hit up E-bay, it should be cheaper than going to the beachbody website and I ordered mine Thursday night and had it Monday afternoon. The Ebay Wholesaler dropshipper people crank it out to you fast. And it is a nice change from the norm. The burning is unlike any gym experience I've had. And the stomach work, especially on Tape 2 RampItUp is awesome! The beautiful thing about abwork is even though it burns ...my abs are under 20,000 leagues of fat so it seems so far far away...and I don't really work those muscles during the day so they recover the fastest as opposed to my irritable legs, going up stairs and whatnot.

Barb, my fellow PushPlay4pain addict: Oh man I did Burn It Up for the first time and I wasn't even cloooose to making it on the doubled floor leg and butt stuff. I just laid on the floor and cursed lol...one of my favorite things about these tapes is Stef, you can see his face contort and he keeps toweling off...I'm like "There's honesty!" :P Grats on your 6 inch waist loss, that's awesome! I like the added punches in tape 3, if I stand back far enough her cheerful face is right in the center of it lmao...Nobody smiles through that much pain. Can you imagine if she had a baby? Labor: "Ooh, that sure does burn!" with a beaming smile, then she'd Plie and rocket it right out.

I'll check in next week *hugs*

GL on your new tape, I'm also interested in that 90 day boot camp series. I like that it goes from one muscle to the next to the next and gets it done in 35 minutes, and then the next day is fun cardio. The same muscles getting pushed over and over for an hour gets tough and makes me cry in my bowl of bacon lol

                            Boo hisssssss!

I switched to OWL this week because I've been starving from my buttkicking workouts....I gained weight and many inches back on today's weigh-in and measuring. Peed on a Ketostix and it was negative! Good LORD I'm sulking...

So, time to hit the supermarket and stock up on Fat Fast food and peel off the waterweight.

Grr, see you next week. :P

                              Well, I'm in a pickle.

Lost the bloaty inches but gained more weight, even after pushing back into ketosis. And whereas I may have gained 6 pounds of muscle in this month of exercising...It's still 6 pounds gained.

Ever since I started Atkins in September...weeks where I exercised at the gym or at home resulted in a plateau or in weight gain, regardless of whether I worked out for a day or a month. I have yet to lose a single ounce while dieting AND exercising, only dieting. Perhaps if I was 120 pounds and was 126 with muscle gain, I'd be a bit more excited, but I still have a chunk of weight to lose. I'm going to finish the remaining few weeks of Slim in 6 and take a good long look at the before and after pics and the measurement results. But if I haven't lost that weight that I've gained, I'm going back to dieting alone.

I'd rather have a smaller # on the scale and be spongy to the touch than have a firm little layer of muscle buried under the 40 pounds that I should be losing.

                              Off to push play...
