Yup. In fact, doing the Goofy Challenge (Half Marathon on Saturday, then Full Marathon on Sunday). Signed up in March. Staying on the resort in the Movie All-Stars resort from Wednesday to Tuesday. The whole family is coming.
Have a book "Advanced Marathoning" by Pete Pfitzinger. The schedule has some speed work (which I have never done) built into it. It peaks at 55 miles per week. The Hal Higdon Intermediate II program which I have followed for previous marathons peaked at 50 miles per week.
I plan on running the Half "for fun", no real goal in mind. I would like to try to get a PR for the full on Sunday. I'll have to see how that goes.
I don't think the miles for the two days will be the problem. I am TERRIFIED at the thought of running another 90 degree/high humidity marathon. I get sick to my stomach just typing it.
I know exactly what you mean. Disney 2006 was COLD, but great running conditions compared to 2007 when it was nearly identical to Chicago conditions. I don't like cold, but I'll take it hands down over the heat/humidity anyday.
Good luck with the training, I am sure you will do great. Disney is ALWAYS an experience to remember!
Look at you Betty still going Stong. I am so Proud of ya, you keep going and going and well, I fell off. I am finally getting my medical problems fixed up but, it's taking time. My energy still isn't what it was before diagnosis but, it's comming as well. I am going to start running slowly and see how things go. I was glad your messages are still here.
Missed you
Sarah

Saturday, Oct 20: 8 miles on the trail. The temps were cool and the humidity was a little less .. made for a good run. My goal is to build up my miles on Saturdays back to the 13-15 mile range to prepare for the winter half-marathons that are coming up soon!
