Walking, biking, jogging. These types of exercise use your leg and butt muscles.

      Re: Need A Workout Idea

I'm not sure how well I can describe these, but I'll give it a shot.

Standing with your feet together- knees slightly bent, abs tucked to protect your back- rest a dumbbell on your outer thigh and do a standing side leg lift. 3 sets of 10 reps on each side.

Put the dumbell on the inside of your thigh and do a standing scissor lift, so your right foot crosses in front of your left leg. I find I have to really focus on the inner thigh muscles. It's too easy to start throwing weight in various directions to compensate.

Feet together. Raise one leg like you're a stork. LOL - so your left knee is bent and your left foot is resting against your right knee. Keep your hips square (this is tough!) and just rotate your leg - knee facing forward, knee facing to your left (so your legs form a 4 of sorts, knee facing forward. Out-in-out. In-out-in. Don't let your foot rest against your standing leg- but keep it isolated and keep your balance.

I'm hoping that's at least somewhat clear!

And there's always good old fashioned floor work. On your side, leg lifts ...top leg lifts up...but for added emphasis, when your leg is down, flex your foot -knee forward and when you go up, rotate your leg so that your toe is pointed and your knee is pointed to your ear.

Stay in the same position, only support your weight with your top leg and do the lifts with your bottom leg- foot flexed (weight on inner thigh) - and do inner thigh lifts.

Swap sides. Pray for it to be over soon.

I'll see if I can find pictures or video demonstrations....but no real luck so far!

Also- you may want to swing by the library and check out a couple of books. They've ususally got great ideas/demonstrations. -And it don't get any cheaper!
