  • My arms!

    I need some suggestions for arm exercises.
    At the gym they have all sorts of machines and I've tried them, but the machines make my elbows hurt. I really need to work out my arms because I don't want them to get any flabbier than they are. Any suggestions?

    Mine toned up great with weights and swimming. If you can't swim, just doing swimming motions in the air help tighten the skin. I used 2 pound weights, held them over my head and let them drop behind my head. I did 50 of these every night before bed. I also held the weights out to the sides and did 50 side-lifts with them. I don't know why your elbows are hurting, If its really bad, maybe go see a doctor to make sure there isn't anything wrong.

    Be sure to measure your upper arms so you can keep track of how the exercise is slimming them, you'll be surprised at how they tighten and tone after a few weeks.

      Hoping, may I suggest you hire a personal trainer (PT) at the gym for 1 or 2 sessions? I know they are expensive, but a qualified PT can show you how to use the machines or free weights to work the muscles for maximum effect and, most important of all, show you the correct form to use the weights to prevent injury. I really learned alot in my sessions with the PT and now only hire him periodically to help me change up the routine every 6 weeks or so.

        Hey hoping,

        I use 3lb and 5lb dumbbells. Using the 3lb weights, I jab 100 times for each arm, then upper cut 100 times for each arm (the upper cuts also help with back fat) Using the 5lb weights, I hold my arms up on each side of my head and control the drop as I bend my arm at the elbow and lift it back up 50-100 of those a day. My arms have a good bit of definition in them from doing this, and it didn't take long to see results. I'm still trying to find more ways to zap the back fat! LOL
