Cool...Thanks Jimmie. I am actually a member and I want to attend on a more regular basis. I'm thinking of starting a curves challenge if I have some takers.

cool beans! all i would ask is that you read this ******Attention Exercise Challenge Leaders and Challengers******

        and pm me with details!

i did a search after my last post here and i did see that some members were not happy with curves but then many more that loved it. the real deal is DO YOU LIKE IT? if the answer is "yes" then it's the right thing for you.

          Re: Curves

Thanks for the info Jimmie. HMM...there is a lot of work involved in a challenge huh??? Maybe I will just join other challenges and/or challenge myself. Or I will wait until I have more time to thoroughly see a challenge through.

            Re: Curves

it can be work if you make it work, but it can be very rewarding too. you know how it works when you are the teacher and you usually end up learning more than the students you are teaching? same with challenges. as a leader, you usually stay more motivated and accomplish more than those joining the challenge. it's also a great way of paying it forward and helping others on their journey.

but you are right, it is nothing to take lightly. challeners depend on a leader being just that... a leader.

              Re: Curves

I used to Manage the Curves is my town and I have to say ...It works if you work it! I have seen many women who not only love the workout but get great results from it. I also have seen A LOT of women who love the workout and don't see any results. The problem is is that they are not working it. They come in with their friend and end up chatting the whol time the go around the circuit. One of the great things about Curves is that it is casual and upbeat and a great place for friends to workout together but you have to remember what you are there for. Are you there to chat or workout cause you can't do both! I machines are nice but you really have to push yourself to do you as many reps as you can in your 30 secs. You should really feel like...."oh my goodness when is it going to say change stations now?" cause your arms/legs/abs...ect are going to fall off. Then make sure you use the recovery boards to do just that....recover. You need to keep your heart rate in the zone so you are burning fat and if that means that you have to stand still for that 30 secs. than do that. I see some women running full force on those boards or doing little steps or leg lifts on them and I just think they don't get it. THey don't need to do all that if they are doing the machines right. If you have enough energy to do more than a slow jog on the boards than you are not using the machines hard enough. So that is my one piece of advice. Work those machines!! That is the only way you are going to see results! Oh...and don't forget to stretch!!!

I agree. I see many women chatting and laughing. When people try to talk to me...I keep it brief. I am there to work my butt off...........literally.
