Re: Calling all Slim in 6ers!

I've considered buying this but it looks a little expensive.. usually I just do two miles of running and a little weight training, but I feel like I need a more structured work-out regiment. Is this program really worth it?

Re: Calling all Slim in 6ers!

jersey - Thanks! I'm just glad that I'm bout done! I'm looking forward to a week of me and my treadmill.

Duchess - It was worth it for me. I bought Si6 after I had my first child and its been my way of getting back in shape after each child. I've done quite a few rounds of Si6. I can honestly say that I've gotten my money's worth and more out of the program over the years. I don't have a gym membership and in my opinion, this was the cheaper, more efficient way for me to go. I didn't/don't have time to go to the gym or want to deal with scraping up the extra money to pay for a gym membership and the gas to get there each month. Plus, I don't like working out around other people. I'm a big klutz. The program does work, I've gotten great results with it. This time around, I've really gotten a tushie lift and seen some major love-handle shrinkage. Plus, I have toned up a lot everywhere. With that said, you wont get your money's worth out of the program if you don't do the workouts and just put it on a shelf somewhere. They aren't a walk in the park. Some days you have to push yourself to get it done. It is a commitment, but the commitment is only for six weeks. Well, thats my two cents. Hope I've helped atleast a little bit! Oh, and I think somebody here got theirs for $10 on ebay.

I'm still reading, Bean Pole--awesome job! Let us know your results when you're done.

I plan on re-starting soon. This time of year seems hard motivation wise for me. I'm glad to see you're doing so well. SI6 is hard but it does have great results. Keep it up!

Re: Calling all Slim in 6ers!

Good to know that I haven't been abandoned LooseShoes! Thanks for the encouragement!! I only measured my waist this time around because I figured that I was just doing it so that I would be in shape to do P90X. I wish I had measured everything. I didn't lose any weight because I kept falling off of the atkin's wagon. But I've toned up a lot! I might post pictures. I was planning on waiting till after I finished P90X to do that, but I'm happy with my results so far. I'm thinking about starting a journal when I start P90X and just keeping pictures and everything in that one place. Seems like it would make things easier than keeping track of several threads. I know what you mean about the motivation. I couldn't even let myself think about it, I had to jump in and get it done because I really didn't want to do it. Now I'm so glad that I did it and that tomorrow I will be done with it! I'm just sick of it!! Treadmill, here I come!!

Re: Calling all Slim in 6ers!

Hello everyone I have a question. I have been a devote follower of Debbie Siebers, I have used her programs to shave off about 80 pounds of fat from my body. I have done slim in 6 a few times, I bought the slim series and have used those too. The thing is that lately I have been really bored with the workouts. I can't believe it either, I feel like I just betrayed her or something for saying that, it's just that I have been doing it for 3 years now!!! This is the first time I've felt like this.

It is definatly the best workout out there that I know of. I did get Power 90 and did that for a while, but it just seemed that it wasn't as intense as Debbie Sieber's workouts.

So any ideas on what I should move on to. How is P90X?

Just wondering because I am willing to move on to something else. I can't believe I'm actually losing interest in Si6 but I just cant ramp it up or burn it up one more time lately!

                Thanks

Re: Calling all Slim in 6ers!

I have P90 too. That was my same problem. It wasn't as intense as Si6 and it took a lot longer to get the same results. I always went back to doing Si6 instead. I don't know how P90X is yet, but I will let you know in a couple of weeks. I think it would probably be a good thing for me if P90X wasn't as long as the Si6 workouts, but I'm fine either way. I hate to workout, but I love results. Thats why I decided to give P90X a shot because from what I can tell from the beachbody before and after photos, P90X seems to be the program that gives the most extreme results even if it does take more weeks to complete than Si6. Thats just my opinion though. One other thing that made me want to do P90X was that I wanted to use the chin-up/pull-up bar that goes along with the P90X program. I can't wait to see what kind of muscle definition I get from using that! I hope it helps me meet my goal of being completely toned by summer. I want to wear shorts!! IMO, if you're bored of Si6 and you don't want to do it, find something else that you enjoy. After P90X, I aim to try something that looks more fun, like Turbo Jam. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do even if it means leaving something you feel loyal to! Otherwise you might not get a workout in and we need those workouts to tone up and lose the flab!

Re: Calling all Slim in 6ers!

jersey - Thanks!! I never made it to my treadmill though. Someone suggested that I do a recovery week of P90X instead. I decided to do that since I thought that it would better prepare me for next monday when I actually start. I did the YogaX this morning. I thought it would be easy..boy, was I wrong!! I couldn't do some of it at all! I was sweating too! YogaX kicked my butt! So much for my easy week!

I'm planning on starting a journal here and posting some pictures. I don't want to do it at the beachbody site because most people there are anti-atkins. I just want support and positivity! Everyone feel free to check it out when I get it up and running!
