  • I got a Gazelle Edge trainer...what shoes?

Woot! We finally have an exercise machine in the apartment and it works great. Only problem is I need better "tennis" shoes...my feet hurt after 5 minutes.

I guess the best choice would be some type of shoe with an air pocket cushion?

I am not quite sure what a "GazelleEdge" is - treadmill? Anyway on my treadmill I have been using these trainers called "MBT" for about two years. They have a support in the middle that kind of makes you roll as you step. They are supposed to align your posture properly as you walk. It took me a while to get used to them but I personally think they have kept my bad back at bay. Just google MBT and you'll find the info. Hope this helps.

      I'll check it out thanks!

BTW the gazelle is a gliding mechanism, similar to cross country skiing (I guess).

I think the most important thing is to buy shoes for your gait and wear pattern. Are you a pronator (roll your feet inward), neutral, or a supinator (roll your feet outward)? Since I'm a supinator, I have somewhat of a "stiff" gait, and I need more cushioning. Pronators need more stability, and neutrals need "motion control" shoes.
