  • Tricep Exercises

I have read in the past that the tricep muscle actually develops quicker than your biceps do. Whenever I work my arms when I am done, I feel that pump in my biceps and makes me feel like I have achieved something. I don't get that with the triceps. Does anyone do any one particular tricep exercise where they get that full muscle pumped feeling when they are done. I really don't want to do multiple arm exercises just one for each muscle part. Any help or advice out anyone?

I think I know what a kickback is, what is a pushdown? Is that when you sit on the edge of a bench or table and lower yourself down and back up again?

            Re: Tricep Exercises

I find I get more of a feeling of use out of my triceps whenever I do pushups. It always seems that when I work my triceps, they hurt like **** when doing the exercise and the muscle fails, but I don't have much soreness the next day...EXCEPT when I do pushups. Then I get sore in my triceps and chest.

              Re: Tricep Exercises

              I love to do:
*2-arm extensions (holding a heavy weight in both hands, elbows "glued" to the ears)
*single arm extensions (extending the arm overhead but holding on to the bicep of the working arm for support)
              *tricep dips
*rope or V-bar pulldowns (like Chris described)
              *kickbacks
              *triangle/close-hands pushups

                Re: Tricep Exercises

Thanks Joy and Juli! Okay triangle/ close hand pushups are not gonna work, I can still barely do the girlie pushups. But I will try to work them in along with some of the other suggestions you all gave. Juli, Joy finds she gets the most pump from the pushups, do you find one exercise gives you more than the others?

                  Re: Tricep Exercises

For triceps, definitely the V-bar/rope pushdowns (I accidentally called them PULLdowns in the earlier post, but I meant PUSHdowns). It isolates the tricep and it BURNS! And tricep dips, they're great too.
