  • ?? About Strength Training--The Firm Videos

I am familiar with the rule regarding only lifting weights every other day for the same muscle groups. I bought two "The Firm" total body workout videos, which combine weights and aerobics. One is Cross-trainers Firm Strength and the other is low impact aerobics--both use weights. I've watched both and they do not say if you can do these every day or if you need to rest a day in between. You never work the muscle to exhaustion the way you do when just lifting.

Also, I am disabled and I can't do push-ups and I can't get on hands and knees at all. What do you suggest I substitute during these parts? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I am building myself back up after not being able to exercise for many months, and hope to start these videos in two weeks.

    Sunny!

Sunny, I would go with the recommendation to give your muscles a chance to recover with a break in between workouts. That's when the most benefit happens.

As for not being able to get on your hands and knees do wall pushups http://www.chfpatients.com/faq/exercises/pushups.htm

Thanks! I forgot about wall pushups! I used to do those all the time!
