  • marathon madness

I'm training for a marathon, and I'm up to 14 miles now. Unfortunately, I'm getting REALLY hungry. Usually my appetite is not affected the day of my run, but it's the next two days after my long runs that I feel constantly hungry.

Any one else have this problem and can share tips? Would love to get some Atkins-friendly snacks ideas, and advice on how much more to eat is okay.

I lost 6 pounds on induction prior to training. And I'm about 8 pounds from goal weight. I haven't lost any more since induction, but I haven't gained either. But the inches are dropping off rather nicely.

    Thank you.

WTG with the weight loss and running!

My suggestion is, if you're hungry, EAT ... lots of good lean proteins and healthy fats would be perfect for you!

I agree with Betty. Eat. Stick with the higher fat/protein. No need to "carb up". Your body needs the protein to rebuild the muscles as you continue to push your endurance. Give it what it craves. Also, make sure you really push the water. It's amazing how much fluid you lose even in cold weather.

Thank you for the advice guys. Betty you look fabulous. I envy your legs -- those are the legs of a woman half your age.
