    HI RUNNERS (AND WALKERS!)

    New week / new thread!

Anyone have some new goals they hope to achieve this week? RichT how are you feeling? I hope you're doing better! RichF has the new training begun for the May Marathon?

As for me, still building miles .. I haven't signed up for my "Gasparilla" runs yet, but maybe this week ... still thinking about doing the 15k on Saturday (2/9) and the half marathon on Sunday (2/10). There's also a "Michelob Ultra Challenge" I might do .. which is the 15k followed by the 5k on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday ... DECISIONS DECISIONS! So many races, so little time!

Have a great week of running, y'all!

4 miles in today. 12 degrees with wind chill of -6. That is by far the coldest I've ever run in. Any colder and I will have to move to the dreadmill.

The marathon training program starts Tuesday. I'm doing the Pfitzinger 18 week 55 mile max training plan. I did the 12 week plan training for Disney.

I'm thinking about doing a local Super Bowl 5k in a couple of weeks.

Betty, seems like all the CRAZY runner challenges are in Florida.... Keep us posted on what you choose.

      1.5mi today (2min running/1min walking)

Betty--good luck with whichever race(s) you decide on!

RichF--Wow, that is incredibly cold! I don't think I've ever been in weather in the 20's, let alone something that felt below zero. Be careful out there.

Thanks you guys .. still debating .. there's a Bay to Bay Classic 12k in March that looks fun, so that's on my short list too!!

Yeah, Rich, running is CRAZY here once the cool weather hits. There are so many races every week now its unbelievable. Florida is such a great runner's state .. especially in this part .. nice and FLAT.

Good luck with your long training program .. wow 55 miles!! Makes my hips hurt to think about it! And running in that cold ??!! WOW, you are an animal!

I'm just gonna keep building miles for the next few weeks and see how things go.

        Prya, you're doing great!

Much "warmer" today. 21 degrees with a wind chill of 10.

7 miles in. So begins another 18 week marathon training plan.

1.5mi again today. Pushed up to 2 1/2 min running and 1-1 1/2 min walking intervals. Getting the time up is hard, but I really enjoyed the challenge, rather than dreaded it

Richt is feeling a bit better Betty, but stll struggling to run any more than 1 minute at a time without stopping on the side of the road and coughing and spluttering! I really hope it clears up soon. I went back to see the doctor last Friday and she said that she could no longer do anything for me and that I will have to wait for it to clear up!

                        1.5mi (2.5min running 1min walking intervals)

My shins are starting to hurt about 3 inches down from my knees. It's normally the day after I run but today it started less than 30min afterwards. Anything I can do besides take some tylenol and suck it up? hehe

You know you're a runner when:

You run when it's 17 degrees with a wind chill of -7 !
And by mile 8 of a 9 mile run, the water in your water bottles freeze solid.

So it is to be training in Michigan in January for a May marathon.
