And by mile 8 of a 9 mile run, the water in your water bottles freeze solid.

So it is to be training in Michigan in January for a May marathon.

    Mind if I edit that?

You know you're an INSANE runner when:

      Insane probably fits better.

4 miles in. A balmy 25 degrees today.

Betty. I don't think your crazy for thinking temps in the 50s are cold. At the end of my week as a Floridian, the temps were in the 50s in the morning and I was out in long sleeves and cold. In Michigan with temps in the 50s would definitely mean shorts and t-shirt.

Thanks, Rich!! It *was* a chilly run this morning for the first 2 miles .. after that, the jacket was history, and I was comfy in my shorts and running top!

I managed a darned good 14.45 miles today. Maybe in a few weeks, I'll hit my 18 mile goal. Not sure what's special about 18 .. it just sounds good! (proof positive yet again, that runners are weird people!)

I went to the new running store at the mall today .. bought myself some orthotics for my painful left foot (metatarsal pain) .. feels pretty good during a trial run through the neighborhood just now .. the real verdict will be in on Monday when I head out for 6 miles on the concrete! I just hope it helps! I'd go to a sports med doc about it, but the first time he'd say "stop running" .. I'd be like RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! Pain is part of the beauty of this sport and as long as its not debilitating, I'm gonna tough it out! But hey, if a pair of orthotics helps, then I'm all for that!
