  • Question for Runners

I am participating in the Couch to 5K Challenge and I just finished Week 2 Day 2 yesterday. This is where you run for 90 seconds and walk for 2 minutes...

Anyway, today my knees are quite sore. My muscles are just fine. Could it just be that I have bad knees (I have never had a problem with them before)? Or am I just not running "correctly".

I have never been a runner so this is all new to me. I used to have issues with my back hurting when I went for extended walks but I got new shoes and now my back is great.

    Re: Question for Runners

Could be that your shoes might be good for walking but not running. I used to have a pair of nikes that i bought just for running, but i too started to have knee issues, I went to a different brand of shoe and the pain went away.

Your best bet is to go to a real running store, and have them do a proper fitting...it meant all the difference for me.

I agree; go to a running store and get properly fitted for a RUNNING shoe.

I'm on a tight budget. Are there any brands that you would say are ok but are not crazy expensive?
