  • Leg workouts

    I have been doing leg curls and using the inner and outer thigh abductors for the last 3 weeks. I do 3 sets of each (8-12) and my thighs don't seem be getting any smaller. on the contrary they are getting bigger. I really want to reduce my thighs. Does anyone have any suggestions? Could it be that doing leg workouts daily is ineffective?

    My MINI Goal










    My Goal is to weigh 125 lbs! 20 lbs to Go
    Don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today.
    SW-January 9/08-156lbs
    Started Induction-January 28/08 @ 150lbs ***Ended Induction @ 147lbs. A 3lb lost!

    I'm not sure I have an answer for you at all, but I'm doing a round of Slim in 6 and theres a lot of leg lifts, squats, etc. My legs have gotten bigger too while everything else has gotten slimmer. I know it has to be muscle since I'm losing the fat and cottage cheese look on my thighs. Maybe they'll get smaller once we adjust to the workouts better since muscle takes up less space than fat? Anyone have an answer for us??

      The biggest question I would have is: Are you are just starting to work the legs, or are you restarting after a layoff? Women can pack on some size in the legs, moreso even than men, when they first tackle a leg workout. Keep at it, eventually growth will slow down...If you keep with the eating plan, those legs will look great once any fat comes off.

      Jan. 4, 2007 5' 10", 260 lbs.

      Jan. 19, 2007 247 lbs.

      Goal: 215 lbs - Achieved

      February 4, 2008 - 220lbs

      Goal- 190, 10% bodyfat

        Me, I was restarting. I do a round of Slim in 6 every now and then. I usually take a big break after each round, but not this time! I'm moving into P90X after a week of walking on the treadmill to give my body a rest. Its supposed to be more challenging than Si6. I'm a little worried that my legs are going to continue to get bigger since I'm mixing things up and pushing myself. I suppose its better than flab though. Thanks for replying Legend!
