  • ? for the NB shoe fans....

I'm placing an order at JCPenney for a few things, and I see they have NB shoes on sale. I'm considering ordering a pair, runners are alot cheaper there than here. My question, I'm a fan of Asics Gels and Saucony(my current shoe)...has anyone had any experience with those brands as well as NB as a comparison? The only shoe I've had a problem with are Nike Airs, they caused me knee issues.

I'm thinking the NB's will be good for me as they come in wide, wide widths are really hard to find here.

    any thoughts?

I'm also considering going to a store and trying on a pair, but until i actually run in them, just trying them on wont be much help.

NB are the only shoes I will wear. I am on my 5 or 6th straight NB running shoe (starting with 1023 to 1060 to 1061 to my latest 1062). They wear the best of any shoe I have ran on. While I have put 5-600 miles on Nike or Asics recently, but they pale at least in the store.

Cool, thanks Kent! I had a feeling they were a good shoe I have seen alot of runners wearing them. I can probably get a pair for under $80 (compared to 160 here), so I think I may have to make the investment.

      Thanks again!

I wear NB too and I love them. I actually went to this running store where they videotape your feet while you run on a treadmill to see if you pronate and then find the best shoe for you. It was very cool. Anyway, I have high arches so I tend to pronate a bit and the new balance were the most comfortable and the ones that gave me the best support.

I actually wasn't a huge fan of New Balance shoes. I bought them once and they were OK, but I won't buy them again. I love Asics, and I just bought a great pair of Mizunos. Of course, we're all different in terms of wear pattern/gait/foot width. I have wide feet, high arches, and I supinate. Whatever brand you choose, just make sure they're built for YOU!

My feet are only happy in NB 1223s. I've tried Asics and gotten huge blisters on the arch of my left foot. Same thing with Mizuno. So for me, and my feet, its only NB.
