I mentioned the nordic trak cause I say it in your post too. Wow, $25, the person doesn't know what they had. Or they're like several folks who tried my nt and couldn't get their balance. My 12yo ds recently started using it and thankfully he listened to my instructions and learned to 'balance'.

Mine is 14 or 15 yrs old now and still works like a charm. The only item broken on it is the speedometer/odometer. I use my heart monitor which is a separate item to keep my workout hard enough to keep my heart in the zone I want it in. I love the lack of stress on the joints too.

I went back in the water today!!! I was trying to figure what was wrong this weekend and it dawned on me that one of the reasons I had problems when I first went is because I'm "denser". Without as much body fat I'm not as floaty. My "muscle memory" was all screwy because of the difference in my body now. So I realized I needed to re-acclimate to the water. I went to a larger pool today that way I would be sure to have a lane to myself and not bug anyone. I practiced floating on my back and swimming with my head out of the water. I would swim half a length and then swim back on my back. Eventually I built up to swimming laps a few times. I know it's silly and basic stuff but I was just so happy to finally be on my way again with swimming!! I would like to go again tomorrow but I think maybe I should give my body a day to rest, but I don't know if that's necessary for swimming. We'll see, I'll definately go back Wed. I can't wait!

Good for you! Sounds like you worked out a great system for getting used to the water again.

My pool was closed tonight due to our little Nor'easter snow storm. I really needed a swim too cause I went running on Saturday, the first time in a month. UGH, my muscles ached tonight and really could have used the water to stretch them out.
