    Re: run times

I'm 52 and have only been running for about 5 years. My fastest 5k pace was 9:51 over the 3.1 miles .. if I had to guess at my 1 mile pace, I'd say about 8:50.

      Re: run times

I normally like Betty run longer than just 1 mile, especially in races, but last year for a running class, I ran a 6:45. I am just started my daughter running for the first time on 2 min run - 1 min walk, and she is already doing 5-1 system and up to 5 miles after a month or two. She's also dropped her mile time down 2 minutes, so I really happy for her.

        Re: run times

I've always wondered if leg length affects how fast a person runs? I think i'm a fairly slow runner, but I have pretty short legs and i think that affects it. I'd guess i run an 11/12 min mile right now...but i don't really pay attention to my time...i concentrate on my distance...

          Re: run times

Once, and only ONCE, I ran an 8-min mile.

I'm not a very fast person, I guess I'm more of a "distance" person. I usually average 10/11 minute miles when I run, but then again, I'm usually running 5+ miles...
