  • Rate my exercise!

I know we have a place to post menus and have the pros take a looksee, so I'd like to do the same for my workouts. I've been exercising for a week now (wooo, taking it one step at a time), and I want to make the most of the work I'm doing. I've been doing a similar work out 5 days a week.
    • 20 minutes of cardio
      10 minutes arms (weights)
      10 minutes abs
      10 minutes lower body[\list]

What do you think? I was considering doing 1 hour of cardio plus arms and abs one day, and abs and lower body the next.

I want to do enough exercise to be getting the best bang for my buck, but I don't want it to be so daunting that eventually I stop doing it, KWIM?

After a week of this I've only lost 1 lb, and 2.5". In your opinion am I on the right track, or is there something else I could be doing?

I am a stay at home mom with no car, and jogging is right out, I might get a black eye! (LOL ) Walking really isn't an option, we don't live in the best neighborhood, and I wouldn't feel comfortable. I am in the process of trying to get a treadmill.

Anyhoo, please, I'd appreciate any advice/suggestions.

      Thanks!

Well im definatley no expert as i have just recently startd exercising myself, but it seem as thoguh you are doing just fine, just make sure that you are alternating the days on weights... also maybe if you are stuck at home to exercise you could get a video to do for crdio as well as weight training, you could buy weights or use cans of veggies or water jugs to help firm, congrats on starting to exrcise... and as i have been told many many times here, any exercise is good.. :icondance

Do yourself a favor and do no more than 30-45 minutes of medium-high intensity aerobic exercise. If you do more than 45 minutes now then when you reach a plateau you have NOTHING to go on! When you reach a plateau (if you do) then you could up the exercise 15 minutes more to 1 hour!!

Remember MEDIUM - HIGH intensity cardio works best. Low intesity is NOT the best for fat loss!
