  • Zumba!

    Haha I just went to a Zumba class the other day. Omg, it kicked my butt good But it was fun! The music was great, the energy of the room was great, the only trouble I had was that the instructor and every other girl in the room only spoke Spanish So the few ques that she did give as to what we should be doing, I couldn't tell XD But I had fun following along with the fun dance steps.

    Half way through it my sides started to hurt and cramp BADLY and then after a while the right side of my chest started to have sharp pains everytime I inhaled -.- But the longer I went, it just went away I felt sooo proud of myself afterwards!!! Was definitely a good work out.
    I will lose weight, I will lose weight, I WILL LOSE WEIGHT!

    I love Zumba, its so much fun. Sounds like you had some cramps. Make sure you're well hydrated throughout the day before you do intense exercise. that's usually the reason whenever that happens to me.

      Zumba is hilarious. I have the tapes from back when it first came out. I have a hard time working out to them because the guy in the tape makes me laugh. I would be so uncomfortable if he talked to me the way he talked about the other girls in the tape... haha. It is fun though.

        That sounds like so much fun. Reminds me of when I took african dance class years ago; it was the best workout I ever had. I would leave exhausted and soaked.

          Qd--that sounds awesome! What I love about that type stuff is it doesn't feel like exercise you're having so much fun.

            I've actually been looking for a good african dance class around here for the kids and I but everything is so far away. I've also always wanted to take latin dance (esp. merange sighs* I definitely recommend it because it is a very freeing type of dance and OMG, it can be exhausting. Lots of full body movements and it can be quite emotional to move your body that way. When I get back east I will find a good spot to go cause it's good for them culturally but I want them also to be healthy and move a lot as kids. Even if they rebel and become couch potatoes by 16 once they are 25 and they start turning into me they'll thank me. I can totally see how zumba took off in miami. Most exercise programs aren't either fun or tap into peoples cultures in a way that they just enjoy. I guess it would be similar to the way jazzercise took off in the 70's
