Hi guys. I'm new here :wave I'm doing induction right now, and I have a question about exercise. I like doing cardio exercises like walking and jogging and dancing. The problem: I do not live in close proximity to a gym, and the weather is fairly horrible all winter long. I'm eating right, but I just can't brave the elements to get that exercise in, even though I know I need it. I can't sit on my butt until spring comes. Anyone know of any good indoor cardio exercises that one can do in a fairly small space? I've tried dancing like...well...this: :dancingb: :icondance :dancing for about thirty minutes...but it gets old fast. Jogging in place is hard on my knees. Ideas?

Just a thought - do you have any stairs that you can run up and down?

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Sometimes you cant beat a bit of " making you family think you are weird". Always creates quite a stir.
Another thought - Could you buy a stationary bike? Would you have room for one of those?

If you have a VHS/DVD player, and don't mind working out to videos, there are some excellent ones out there.
Walk Away the Pounds is popular, as is Pilates right now. I bought one of the Pilates but have not used it because my rooms are so small I can't do them effectively. Plus, it interferes with everyone's TV watching :anger

I second Sadie, Walk Away the Pounds (WATP) by Leslie Sansone is a great program for limited space workouts. You don't need anything except the video or DVD usually. I have the 3mile (does use resistance bands) and the 4 mile Super Challenge, I haven't done it for some time but I really love it.F/36/5'4"

You don't even need to run up and down the stairs. Walking is fine. My husband lost 49lbs by doing that for 30 mins everyday! He has since added weights while he does it so that he can make his arms more muscular.
He just slaps on some music which he knows will play for 30 minutes and then gets on with it and lets his mind wander. It also leaves the DVD/living room free for me to do my exercise at the same time!
Good luck :hug
