  • To wear or not to wear, and if you wear...

I have a rather different question that I've been trying to find an answer to, and thought perhaps that some brilliant exerciser would have the answer or at least a personal experience that would enlighten which is best.

I was wondering about underware and which is best to use while exercising. I've read seveal articles of runners not wearing or wearing during long distance runs, but nothing out there in the world that is best for the ammature exerciser.

It's just something that I've been wondering over the past week of whether or not to wear or not to wear underware, and if you wear, which type is best?

Thanks for your clean input ahead of time!

    Hi Lisa
I bought panties and a sportsbra both having the name CoolMax. They wick moisture away and are very, very comfy. I also have CoolMax socks!

The brand name is very popular, so if you google it, you'll find out where you can buy the products.

    Hope this helps!

MG, that really helps! Thank you! Wicking mositure away is the main idea I had! I actually think I recognize the name from the sports store that I buy my Nikes from, but I'm not sure. It sounds really familiar to me. Thanks again!

When I run, I wear the running shorts with the built-in undies. In FL heat, the last thing you need is clingy underwear !

I also have a pair with the built in underwear for the summer, and as well i have a pair of nike that are bike type shorts, under those ones and pants in the winter i wear boy leg underwear (less constricting), and never cotton. cotton absorbs moisture and makes you feel wet..sythetic fibres are the ones that wick sweat away.

And don't forget the Body Glide if you are doing distances. I use it under my arms and on my inner thighs.

Body Glide is wonderful stuff. And if you're a marathoner ... try coating the bottoms of your feet with vaseline before putting on your socks .. eliminates the FRICTION!

Betty, great tip. Have you tried it with new running shoes? I was wondering if BG or Vaseline would help with "breaking in shoes" blisters, too. I can remember almost crying with joy the first time I wore a sundress and didn't have to worry about chafing because of the Bodyglide! LOL I no longer need it for that (thank you Dr. Atkins) but I am forever indebted to the brilliant person who invented it.

BG for chaffing....need to check that one out! Thanks!

China...that sounds like a great idea to me...breaking in shoes. I wonder if you would go sliding out of your shoes, though? LOL...
