  • So how do you do Body for Life with Atkins?

I glanced through the book today and saw some interesting excerpts from the book, but it seems like it must go hand in hand with the diet. I wanna buy the book, but I don't want to change the way I eat. Is this possible?

    Of course it's possible

Toss out the diet portion and follow the exercise portion. It's that simple

BFL is an awesome program and Bill Phillips goal setting outline is *fantastic*. He's good stuff!

Re: So how do you do Body for Life with Atkins?

A friend of mine lost weight on BFL and it's principles. She still struggles to "stay on plan" as most of do. She exercises several days a week at the gym and that helped her a lot.

I, on the other hand, have not exercised very much at all over the past year and still managed to lose over 70 pounds!! All through low carb dieting... period. Now, don't get me wrong, exercise is very important to your overall health and it is something that I am now able to do (limited, due to some pre existing injuries), especially now that I don't have the "bulk" of the extra weight making it harder than it needed to be.

My experience with BFL was positive, but I could not stick with it. It's more low fat, low carb with heavy exercise. The "free day" each week is a positive, but, for me set me up each week to binge and then get frustrated that it took a few days to get back "under control".

I wouldn't buy the book, but, check it out at the library, do some more research into it and see if it's something you could be comfortable with long term. Also, check out the BFL forums online and look around there, too.

I am very happy low carbing and happy to have reached my goal. I know that I can stick with this WOE and still have the occasional "higher" carb meal and not get out of control again. Never thought I'd be able to say that!!

      Good luck!

I'll have to read the book to really get it. I just got a used one off Amazon for less than $4 so I'm happy. I've got my first meeting with my personal trainer tomorrow so I'll see what he says about it. Thanks guys!

Just use the exercise portion and ignore the eating plan.

it's a great program and gets good results.
