    The foot surgery date is...

    August 6th!

    Four weeks from today ... ugh ... I shudder to think of it ...

    The doctor called today to tell me the details....totally immobile for 2-3 weeks (if you try to walk on it, it will only delay the recovery) OKAY OKAY .. I promise: I WILL NOT TRY TO WALK ON IT ... I told the nurse "I NEED A FAST RECOVERY, THEREFORE I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES..."

    8-10 weeks in a cast ...

    The *only* thing that is getting me through is imagining running that March 1, 2009 marathon PAIN-FREE!!! OMG, that would be so so wonderful!

    My prayers go out to you! Hang in there, it will be SO much better when you are all better.
    Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!

        I can't even imagine the combination of emotions you are feeling right now. I'm really excited about you being able to run pain free; that is going to feel like... flying. Do you have to stop running until surgery?

          oh betty i am sorry to hear that. i have had a total of 5 foot surgeries. recovery is not fun BUT when you are done, you will feel MUCH better. do as the doctor says. you'll be "up and running" in no time...get it? up and running!!!

          ha ha.....UGH!

            Hi,
            Just had a major surgery myself...and found some comfort in listening to the guided imagery and possitive affirmations of Belleruth Naprostek. You can down load it from healthjourneys.com I highly recommend it! It helped me through BRAIN surgery! I was scared to but all went well and I'm recovering nicely. check it out!
