I've heard of people around here doing P90X, not knowing what it was, i googled it. Now I understand what it is. It's relatively expensive though, and rather than buy it, try it, fail, and then toss it in my closet, I'd like to know what people's experiences are. I tried searching for it but didn't come up with any other threads.

Irishmom- if I'm not mistaken you're doing it, how do you like it? worth the money?

Is it just ridiculously hard/impossible to do?

I looked on google for reviews, and then i looked on youtube, and there are a lot of people on youtube that have had tremendous results with this exercise program, just wondering if i should take the plunge.

    Re: P90x

Well I enjoy it. I haven't done it long enough to see results. I can't do some of the excercises though because I'm not in shape enough I guess. It's a pretty advanced program. They have you take a test before it of so many push-ups, pull-ups, and other stuff. If you can complete the test then you are ready for the program. I barely passed (I did like half pull ups with my treadmill since I don't have a pull up bar) so I went ahead and said I passed, haha.

I really like the strength training part of P90X. Mainly cause I don't know what to do in that regard. It also helps teach you form. I don't really like the rest of the program just because I don't need it. Since I'm already doing the C25k and parts of P90X I don't want to overdue my excercise. My days are only so long, haha.

I didn't pay full price for my videos and I don't think I would. Beachbody.com's stuff is ridiculously expensive. If you can find a cheaper copy on Ebay or Amazon that would be your best bet. I personally wouldn't pay full price for it at this point. If I end up seeing huge results later on then maybe. I've only been doing it for a couple of days now.

I wasn't very helpful huh? haha.

      Re: P90x

I'm doing P90 and P90 masters to prepare for P90X. There is a huge youtube community doing P90x and watching the videos has a ton of information. I want to do the actual system but can't pass the fit test. Power 90 has given me amazing results so far, and as I move to P90 Masters I'll gain what I need to do P90X without injury and with full benefit. They are amazing programs. I have a video on choosing between the three programs. Personally, I think a lot of people jump into P90X and burn out when they should have started with Power 90 or P90 Masters first.

oh, and if you do the system as a system it will remake you're body and I think it's worth every penny.

So is p90x just videos or do they include other material to help you with your workout?

          Re: P90x

They have two very specific workout schedules and a meal plan in a huge book. The phase 1 meal plan is low carb but several low carbers are ignoring the meal plan. that said some of the tips in the plan work well regardless of low carb or not. I think it comes with bands, but you'll need free weights probably and you also need a pull up bar. Push up stands help as well.

Ah by the looks of it, it seems you need a pull up bar, some free weights, and some kind of resistance band. I'm going to check out the videos after it finishes downloading and see if it's worth getting some equipment to start the routines.

So I just watched the chest and back video and man it looks pretty intense. I can probably do it, but not sure if I'd enjoy doing it. haha.

i don't live in a space that would accomodate a pull up bar. I saw that the program comes with one and it's huge and I wouldn't have a place to mount it. Didn't know there was P90 and P90 masters, will look into those first.

It's a portable pull-up bar. Most sports supply/exercise equipment supply places will have them. I spent about $40 on mine.
