  • Hows this? quick question

    hello ladies and gentlemen..

I was just wondering, I go to the gym everyday.

I was doing cardio and weights everyday; both per workout.

Now, I'm doing cardio one day, weights the next, and so on. Just alternating.

For cardio days, I use the x-trainer and I start at 3.0 for 10 seconds, then 4.0+ for 20 seconds, 3.0 for 10, 4.0+ for 20... HIIT I think it's called. I also do 2+ miles on the bike (which is easy), maybe include some treadmill in there.

On my weights day, I alternate throughout the machines, and include situps.

    How does this sound? :guns
    Age: 18/F
    Height: 5.8"
    Highest 320
    Current unknown.. about 290
    First Goal 250
    Goal 160

Being beaten is often a temporary condition, giving up is what makes it
    permanent.

It sounds absolutely perfect to me Christina. I hope you are enjoying it.

Its always a good idea to weight train one day and then let the muscles rest the following day.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

what is important is you let the weight lifting muscles have a day off from weight lifting. If you want to lift every day you can but you need to break it up into upper and lower body days.

You need to legthen the intervals in your HIIT as it should be 1 min fast 1 min slow as you need to be maxed out and then recovered. if you are not in shape to last that long then you can work to build it up at a slower speed until you can do the full 60 seconds.

        Good for you working out!

        Happy low carbing.

EXACTLY what I was going to say. HIIT should look like this:

          1 min hard - 1 min soft
          1 min hard - 1 min soft
          1 min hard - 2 min soft
          1 min hard - 2 min soft
          1 min hard - 1 min soft
          1 min hard - 1 min soft

          and so on .......

            Hey Christina,
The HIIT is lots of fun and you will be amazed how quickly you can up the progress on the 'hard' cycles. Remember, you want to be doing it so hard you are absolutely buggered at the end of each hard round

Mmhmm ... and this is the one form of cardio (that like weight training) can burn calories AFTER you are done working out. Most straight through cardio can not do that.
