Hi all, I have been hearing about WATP videos but am wondering what the premise is. I have been to the website and looked around here but can't really tell what all you do in them. Can someone help me out before I buy?

WATP - what's the premise?

I have a 3 mile and 4 mile version of the WATP tapes but in those there are a series of basic moves: walking in place, stepping to the sides, knees lifts, back leg lifts(??? for lack of a better name) and front kicks. These moves are set into a warm up, cardio phase and cool down. Arms are used as well to bring up the heart rate and for balance on kicks, etc. I love the programs I have and they are good for beginners or for more more advanced exercisers because you can control your intensity by working harder, adding more arms or adding weights. This is not a program you can do on a treadmill, it is strictly for the floor and you don't need any extra gear for it (my one tape does use resistance bands but it came with them). The thing I like the most about them is that they are not complicated choreographed moves that I can't follow (I consider myself to have two left feet!), just very basic movements. I love the 4 mile program I have the best and on both of them Leslie tells you when you have done each mile so you can stop and do the cool down if you want. (If you have limited funds, I suggest getting a 3 or 4 mile workout and just stopping at 1 or 2 miles...if you get the one mile tape it may have limited use to you as you build endurance and can do more.)
hope this helps!

PS Use the search feature (under Bulletin Board up top) and search WATP, you should see lots of posts about this program.F/36/5'4"

For treadmill routines, check out www.ifit.com. I know that my treadmill can "read" a CD when hooked up to a CD player or a DVD when hooked up to a DVD player and it can grab the walking routine.
I haven't tried any of the ifit programs, however. (One was supposed to come with my treadmill, but it didn't.)
