I struggle with the motivation or time to work out. I don't want to go to the gym by myself and when I stay at home there are so many things to do other than the exercise. I know I need to make it a priority, but my life is pretty exhausting as it is. On the weekends I am able to fit exercise into my routine fairly easily because I simply have more time. I think I need an exercise buddy to go with me to the gym, but I can't seem to find anyone to go :sadblinky Does anyone else struggle with this? If so how have you overcome this obstacle, or have you?

I have been fortunate in that I have never lacked motivation when excercising. For me I change my routines very regularly to stop the "boredom" feelings.

I would recomend you do get an excericse buddy that way you can keep each other "on track".

You could also sign up for the weekly excercise challenge on this board. Or even sign up to the presidential challenge.

Sign up at the following link. Competing against people on this board should help with motivation too.

    I hope this helps.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Oooh! Ooh! I struggled!

I didn't have the energy when I began Atkins to start exercising, either. However, after the first two weeks and some weight loss, blood sugar stabilization and happy success vibes, it became very easy to exercise!

You will WANT to lose weight, feel good and have great success on this WOE, and you can't fully succeed in any weight loss plan without exercise.

So, in short, no one can make you want to do it, but you will want to, because you'll want to see even more, better, results.

I too have the same problem as the OP.
With the kids, works, & husband there is no me time...which is why I'm in the shape I'm in anyway.
I pray for that boost to get me going.

I live in such a small town and have no one to exercise with either.

Praying that I'll move my body.

Maybe we can find people on this board to exercise with. It's silly that it's so hard to work out with someone when there are so many people who do it.

You can borrow my dogs :yes

They (especially the young one) are great motivators to get you going down the street in your sneakers.

I struggle to make time to workout between my job and family and hate to exercise, too. In the past, I put myself last in the priority list. Now, I am putting myself first. Exercise is just scheduled in each day. It's just taken me 48 years to learn this!

Each time you take a walk, lift some weights, eat a healthy diet, you are giving a gift to your husband and kids, as well as yourself. You are setting a good example for your kids, you are giving your husband a happier and healthier wife, and you are giving yourself the greatest gift: time for yourself.

Make yourself a priority. YOU deserve your precious time, too!

              Good luck.

I actually tell everyone I train to either print out a picture of a celebrity they want to look like or just constantly picture that person in their head when they work out. Just think how bad you want to look like them ... then work as hard as you can!

This is an awsome way to put it and it could not be more true. I understand it's hard to motivate but the more you exersise the more you will NEED to exersise. Pledge to yourself to exersise seriously on a regular plan for 3 weeks at least 5 days a week. I can assure you that at the end of that time you will feel like you NEED to continue. When you miss 2 days in a row you will feel slugish and lazy. I became addicted to exersise and must have a "fix" at least 6 days a week. I think the exersise buddy thing is a perfect idea. If you cant find someone you know then make friends with someone at the gym who is there the same times you are, I've found that the majority of those people are heavily motivated and willing to help others motivate. I know cuz I'm one of them now!

I don't like the idea of wanting to look like someone eles the goal is to love myself and I surely can't do that if I want to look like someone out a a book. Love yourself enough to want to do it and it will get done. You really have to get the words of I could do it or I'll try you have to tell yourself I will exercise and to this for me I will suceed, take it one day at a time. Think of yourself down the road in an outfit you have dreamed of fitting and think of it every day your body morphine you getting stronger. I do this and It works I have a goal to wear a really sexy dress for christmas next year and I imagien MYSELF looking great and wearing it.
