  • Exercising 7 days a week...

Is it really important to take a break one day?
I take Sunday's off and when I'm home on Sunday, I'm dying to get to the gym....I feel like my day can't function right without being there?
Anyone workout 7 days a week? Or feel the same way?

I try to exercise 7 days a week. I have a small home gym, so it's kind of easy for me. I try to do ab exercises and some sort of weight training every morning. And I always take a 30 minute power walk with my dog. I don't feel as good if my day, for some reason, starts without my workout.

What type of exercise are you doing?

For example, if you are a runner, then please no more than 4 days a week .. but you can cross-train on your non-running days.

What I typically do is, I run 4 days a week, and on my non-running days, I do upper body and core work with dumbbells and the stability ball. You *can* work out 7 days a week, but don't over-stress one particular muscle group or you risk injury and/or burnout.

Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.

Thanks guys! And thanks Betty, I am not a runner...yet, but I've put that on my to do list BTW, hope you're recovering well!
So far I'm doing 6 days a week. My schedule looks like this:

Monday: 40 mins cardio, strength training upper body.
Tuesday: 60 minutes treadmill, 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes stairmaster
Wednesday: 40 mins cardio, strength training legs & abs
Thursday: 60 minutes treadmill, 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes stairmaster
Friday: 40 mins cardio, strength training upper body.
Saturday: 60 minutes treadmill, 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes stairmaster
(and then rotate to legs & abs following Monday)
Sunday: off --> but this is in question, I feel so "blah" on Sundays and would like to be at the gym.
I keep hearing about how I'm supposed to let my body recuperate one day a week...is it detrimental to my progress if I am exercising 7 days a week?
